RollerCoaster Tycoon coming to Nintendo 3DS
Theme park sim RollerCoaster Tycoon is headed to Nintendo 3DS, giving Nintendo fans a chance to run their own virtual amusement park. This version of Tycoon will have new assets and familiar features, including a tutorial for newcomers.
RollerCoaster Tycoon allows you to make your own coasters using various designs such as hydraulic, inverted, steel, suspended, and wood. If you want to work out the problems out of your ride or mess around with silly coaster constructions, you can also build in the Coaster Creator and Sandbox modes. Once you're satisfied with your creation, you can view your ride in 3D.
While running your park, you'll have to keep visitors entertained with various attractions. Parks can be populated with kiddie rides, monorails, and haunted houses to keep patrons around for as long as possible.
RollerCoaster Tycoon will ship out to retailers in March 2012.
Chronoblade was announced for Nintendo 3DS
A few days ago, Chronoblade was announced for Nintendo 3DS, with some details about the game. It may surprise you to hear that this is not a sequel to Chrono Cross, and it has nothing to do with the series at all; this is a platformer made by developer Corecell in Thailand.
The game is a Castlevania style game that follows Freya the Magewarrior as she crosses dimensions to a parallel world where her tribe have been slaughtered, she must travel and collect “Special Time Pieces” to gain enough power and avenge her fallen comrades.
More information from from Video Games Pocket shows it to be a side scrolling action platformer with simple puzzle solving and a boss at the end of each level. The action takes place on the top screen with the bottom screen showing a clock which you can manipulate time with, such as resetting your character.
More information can be found on the developers website here, and concept art can be seen in the image section below.
What’s DS Games do you like on 3DS?
1UP’s 3DS came in from Japan today. While we don’t yet have our hands on any 3DS games, that didn’t stop Jeremy Parish from unboxing it and running us through its initial start up. He also put the system through a number of tests involving original DS games, including Dragon Quest IX and Contra 4.
Although it might be somewhat difficult to see in video form, the video upscaling that the 3DS enables by default tends to make DS games look pretty bad. Alternatively, you can enable a 1:1 mode that doesn’t upscale (thereby avoiding unnecessarily-bad-looking DS games ). On the downside, the amount of screen real estate that’s used in 1:1 mode is fairly small — noticeably smaller than the size of the screens on a DSi.

In a nutshell:
The ultimate evolution of virtual pet: Nintendogs gives you opportunity to preen and look after a selection of cute puppies in a virtual home, with virtual currency, where you can buy toys and ds accessories for their enjoyment. You can clean the pups, feed them, walk them, play catch with them, and even talk to them.
The lowdown:
Nintendogs is brimming with character. Each pup looks out from the DS/DSL/DSi touchscreen and paws longingly. You can respond to your virtual pet’s need of attention by stroking the screen, using items such as balls and brushes with the aid of the stylus, and talking to your dogs through the DS/DSL/DSi ‘s inbuilt microphone system. Impressive 3D graphics give lifelike animation to these canine wonders.
Most exciting moment:
After a few attempts to speak commands into the microphone, your puppy understands the meaning of “sit”, barks approval, and sits down. It’s good to talk.
