How to download games on an R4?

Well, this is actually my friends R4 and it's pretty old. We live in China and she got the game online. I have no idea on how to download games( I want to download Nintendogs Dachshund and friends and Labrador and friends). It says R4i, V2.1, Revolution for DS (for NDS series) www.R4i3d-multi.com on the game card. I checked the website it provided but it didn't help at all.

I heard you need to get an RAR for it to download games or a kernel. I don't know what the heck are these and downloaded so many thing that seems like an RAR or a kernel but all it does was giving my laptop viruses and such(both Chinese and American RAR and kernels). I don't know how to drag files or save files on the SD card. I'm not a computer geek so please help me. 10 points to who helps me the most.

How to put games on an R4 DS cartridge?

I recently got an R4 cartridge and micro SD card for my DS. i have no idea how to put games on it though. i didn't get a disc with my R4 cartridge so i don't know whether i need software for it or not, and if i do i don't know where to get it. when i connect the micro SD card to my computer and try to access it from, "my Computer" it wont work. i have no idea what to do. can anyone help?

Solution:

Fixing you r4(so it doesn't keep saying loading)

1) plug in you r4 to your computer using the adapter with your sd card in it and right click it and press format then press ok.

2) http://r4ds.cn/download/r4_v1.18_kernel.…

scroll to the bottom press download 1 make sure you download the english one. it should say this English Kernel v1.18: Download1 Download2(Worldwide) press download 1 or 2 its the same thing.

3) http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm  download the 1st one winrar 3.80

4)now for the 1.18 kernel you just downloaded open it. then drag out all the 3 files called _DS_MENU.DAT、 _DS_MSHL.NDS and a folder called something like moonshell into your r4.

Putting games in your r4

1)Go to http://www.dsromplanet.com/index.php?cat…download any game you want.

2)open it. drag out the ****.nds file to your r4 you can rename it if you want like take out the numbers etc. Sometimes the nds file might also be inside a zipped file open that then the nds file should be there. And sometimes when you open it might have like 10 rar files e.g. ***.rar, ***.01 …… just drag all of them to your desktop then just open any you want and there is you game.

Putting music in you r4 and playing it.

1) music files must all be in mp3 format  download songs from http://www.mp3raid.com/

2)then just drag them to your r4

3)then when you want to play it turn on your ds then pick the middle one (multimedia) and find you song and press a.

How to put music and videos on a r4 ds card?

I have a R4 ds card and I want to know how to put music and videos on it if possible. I know how to put games on.

The best answer:

I can answer your music question easily:

- Plug in your SD drive into your computer, once it opens up create a file and name it "Music" then drag what ever songs you want.

- However you must have moonshell for this to work

- www.r4ds.com <– you can download the updates there

- you can only play songs while moonshell is loaded.

For your vids

- You'd have to download a bunch of converters which is really gay

- you can probably find the converters on google somewhere

Nintendo has won another battle against Flash R4 Kits

Nintendo has won another battle against Flash Kits. The Court of Appeals in France is now "recognizing that these accessories infringe the intellectual property of Nintendo, infringe the trademark, bypass DRM and facilitate the counterfeiting of games." Once again the R4 has been mentioned by name.

Something which seems to be ignored during these lawsuits is the legitimacy of Flash Kits and similar devices in regards to Homebrew. Nintendo would have the public believe that Flash Kit users are only out to pirate Nintendo games and hurt their company.

The R4 was arguably one of the better generation-1 Slot-1 Flash Kits, and is still a great option thanks to the Wood Firmware. These lawsuits have publicized the “R4” name across the Internet bringing an influx of new consumers who want the ease-of-piracy that NDS Flash Kits have made famous. Sadly these consumers are buying anything with the R4 name, which has made this problem a double edged sword.

The more Nintendo goes after resellers the more popular poorly supported R4 clones have become. As we all know, the more popular clones become the more Chinese based companies will manufacture them.

This recent ruling has some of us, once again, asking for the Homebrew only Flash Kit which was once planned by HB Menu developer Wintermute.

Please chime in and let us know how you feel about legitimate uses of Flash Kits and Nintendo's never-ending attack on the R4 brand.
